visual language lecture

Barrie was recently asked to give a talk to English Language students at De Montfort University — the creative writing staff team were keen to show their students a different take on altered texts and typographic expression — some of which are driven by the designer or typesetter rather than the author themselves.
Everything was looking good until Barrie realised that, what he thought would be a 40 minute talk, was actually booked in as a 2 hour lecture.
After a quick re-think and a whole lot more scanning, everything seemed to go off well… No one fell asleep and no one left the room half-way through at least.
